I love this jumper and honestly i've been trying to feature it for like ever but it's all good you know I still likey. Any this is late so I'm keeping it short and sweet. Oh and talking about sweet see the Naija fanta down below just mmmmm.

12 Days of Christmas | Day 2

DAY 2 - CALL ME RUDOLPH

IT'S CHRISTMAS! Or at least it was a couple hours ago. Day two people, now y'all know I don't wear colour too tough but this is as Christmassy as my travelling wardrobe was ha. Christmas was lovely as always, bless my little bro who though he didn't get any present (he's 7) his face was epic in the morning. Not a lot of cooking to be done this year so I opted to keep it cosy but presentable. My twinnie came to visit.! Honestly all I heard was knocking on the front door then the windows I was going to run away but hey ho it was my gumdrop. Obviously when in each others presence what best to do - than to talk about our feelings and stuff - than to take photos!

And trust that the one picture I didn't take was of the food! Ah well y'all know how it goes Insta will enlighten you enough. The drinks were flowing. Had the Guinness punch, disaronno the baileys, flemish and the king Supermalt. It was too funny with the music, the dancing and the constant turn up for Jesus (Can I get an Amen)

This was my go to outfit for my journey back home to London for the holidays.
I usually don't wear shirts but gravitated to this one whilst getting dressed. Yeah I usually don't plan my outfits too tough but this worked. Giving my scalp time to breeeeathe I've opted for braids for a little while. The oriental print of the shirt made me want to have a top knot styled bun. Never done it before, but love that it can be as messy, slanted, high, low or neat as you want it to be and it stays put! no pins or extra bands needed. My nails are growing so well so I'm a happy bunny just trying to keep protecting them and such, grey nails weren't planned but hey matching matching.

Outfit Details - Shirt - Vintage; Leggings - H&M; Watch - Casio.

Let the eating commence, amongst the food prep and all we decided to have a 'little' take out before christmas, Kung Po to vermicelli it was all welcome in my stomach. I just realised writing this chinese food, Chinese inspired prints it all came together nicely.

Gaya

Introducing Gaya Cosmetics

This isn't sponsored just me sharing the good news because I love y'all.

Excited is not even the word. So I'm not that big on make up, well not as much as you would expect. I love a bargain and usually stick with what I know and keep it moving. Now imagine this. Casually walking through the bullring with Sarah (in Birmingham for those who are less familiar with the town) and get stopped by a lovely lady at one of those stand alone counters. Now shock horror we actually stopped and let her say what she had to say. People it doesn't stop there, not only did we try the product, we bought it! Lord take me now.

So you know something is so right its wrong, from when I actually purchased a powder foundation (team liquid usually) but it's also a concealer too. She said that and I said 'you lie' honestly I did, then she put it on me.

It feels so smooth and so light and literally all I could think about was using it in summer. Perfect way to control shine and still have coverage plus it's a natural UV filter she said. At the moment they are doing an offer and let me tell you the prices aren't cheap but it's so worth it and that's coming from me (as bargain crazy as I am). Not only did she apply it for me but I was able to try it myself buffing it in with a brush and using a smaller brush and more powder to create a concealed look. Really quick, easy and build-able look.

If you genuinely want an all in one foundation, concealer, skin protector etc. that gives not only a flawless finish but reduces shine then this is your new friend. Not only that with this product you can mix colour to create your perfect shade and this is a service that is provided all year round...which means come winter or summer when most of our shades fluctuate they cater to changing your colour to suit your tone at the time. I know it should be illegal.

This product is new and exclusive and something not a lot of people know about it and at the moment it is only available in one place in the UK (Birmingham) but do look out new branches will be opening very very soon. It's a lot pricier online, I would suggest going and trying it if you can. This is honestly a gift from me to you.

Gaya Cosmetics' Mineral Makeup is made of 100% natural ingredients, including Mica, a natural ingredient with medicinal qualities; Titanium Dioxide, a natural UV filter; and Zinc, which absorbs moisture and heals the skin. All of our mineral makeup products are chemical-free, Paraben-free and fragrance-free, and are enriched with natural ingredients that benefit and treat the skin. The skincare line is enriched with powerful vitamins, minerals, oils, herbs and acids that work in synergy to add elasticity and moisture, preserve the skin's texture and reduce visible signs of ageing.
I went for the VIP package which includes, my foundation shade (10 - their darkest) a choice or bronzer or blush (I chose blush, my dark skin isn't a fan on bronzer too tough) a brush worth £28 in itself and a VIP card giving you 20% for life. Yes Life.
Not the best picture head scarf and all I so wasn't ready but it shows off the finish well. No filter and no other face products -foundation etc. It makes my pores look smaller! Oh and pardon my laptop it doesn't want to allow this picture to rotate sigh.

Mooch Bar

Birmingham

260 Broad Street, Birmingham B1 2HF

This was another impromptu food venture that kind of happened by accident. After a night out and an early morning it was pretty much inevitable that we would be hungry. We almost walked past but backtracked and ended up taking a trip inside.
Honestly I can't remember the last time I took so long to pick something to eat. It being a monday we were surprised to see that everything, like everything was 50% off. Being the girls that we are we decided not only to eat something in but take something away too (kinda helped when it came to deciding what to eat).
At first we weren't really sure whether we had to go up and order but in the end went up to the bar and managed to order from there. It's a relaxed bar/restaurant really so its almost like you help yourselves to your seat and food

The bar/restaurant is more know for its nightlife that it is for its food as you can see  but hey we didn't have to time to party all over again.

Roasted Cajun Style Salmon - Served with Asian noodles, chilli and lemon sauce and mango salsa
Baby Back Pork Ribs - Half Rack - With Choice of Jamaican Jerk, Hickory BBQ, Sweet Chilli or Oriental Thai Sauce - Served with home style fries, corn on the cob and coleslaw I chose the Jamaican jerk, which wasn't really jerk but was nice anyway

The food was honestly so nice! I decided to have the ribs but ended up taking away another 3 meals haaha. Everything still came up to less than £20 so I can definitely say I exploited the offer. Janine and Sarah got the salmon and it looked and smelt amazing. It was a decent sized salmon and seasoned just right (I would know I had some and ordered it to take home). Even though I ordered a half rack of ribs I still couldn't finish it and had to take yet more food home ah well. I'm yet to try the chicken I ordered but I'm hoping it will be seasoned as well as the fish. the atmosphere wasn't anything special and staff we're a bit blah at times but I came to eat, and eat we did.
The only random thing is the tissue being behind and above in the toilets...the stretch is real.
If you do go there's usually a different offer throughout the week so expect a variation.

And so out of 5;

The Farmhouse

Coventry

215 Beechwood Avenue, Coventry, West Midlands CV5 6HB

So for work myself and my colleague had to plan the christmas lunch for everyone. You all know I am not picky, Rachel loves food ha, but obviously I had to think of something that would be suitable and enjoyable for everyone. I remember taking a trip to farmhouse previously and thinking that it had a great atmosphere and really nice food! So yeah it was basically a no brainer and my colleague had the same idea so we knew we had a winner.
Obviously with christmas round the corner everyone is feeling the festive spirit. I had booked the table in advance and had no issues when it came to getting there. No waiting and no blabber about double bookings etc. Bless them they contacted my like twice to reconfirm everything before and on the day so that was reassuring too.

I guess I've got a bit of a trend going on because this too was a restaurant that serves Indian and english cuisine so there was a bit of everything for everyone loooovely.
Previously I had some of the english cuisine so this time I tried the Indian cuisine, y'all know I don't always get a chance to have a curry (unless I cook it myself)
All in all it was really nice crackers on the table and everything. The team loved it I loved it so it was all smiles and fun (especially with the cocktails and flirting haaha)

Top image: Steak with onion rings, salad and chips. They are really generous with their portions which will always make a person happy. It always appears like it won't fill you up but in all honesty the guys were more than satisfied. I went for my dish which funny enough was really similar to the one sam had in my previous post http://insideherbox.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/five-rivers.html but it was amazing. The second image is the food that initially came I was like erm where's the rest then it arrived I was like awesome! Their naan was so soft I couldn't stop picking at it even when I was full. So good and so filling I had to take some home.
Obviously enjoying the festivities I had a mojito and cosmopolitan to wash it all down. their mojitos pack a nice punch honestly.
Below: Oreo cheesecake & Above: Brownie surprise

Mmmmmm dessert. Honestly I'm not one that can usually fit a dessert in after a meal. Technically I didn't finish mine so after unbuttoning the trousers and resting for a bit I had some room ha. I stuck with my usual preference of cheesecake; it was really light for something that's chocolatey. Below that is the brownie surprise which I didn't have but hey it looked awesome.

Birmingham Days & Fashion Nights

It has literally been ages since I've lasted posted, my apologies guys it's just all been so hectic and my routine wasn't as fool proof as I would have hoped. I've started a new job and have projects outside of uni to complete so I'm sure you can understand why I've been AWOL for a bit. I appreciate anyone and everyone that questioned my whereabouts lool love you guys.

But I'm back and with a baby, not a baby baby but a new camera.! Those who know me understand how happy this makes me like finally! I'm still getting used to the settings but hey I think I've done quite well for a days work.

So anyway forget the chit chat (save that for another post) I thought whilst I haven't put up a style post yet i'll go a little something and let y'all know what I've been up to here and there. I had a chilled day out with my girls (plenty more features coming from them) to Birmingham - first class babes in the first class section - and attended a Runway show in the evening - Partied at night but didn't get any pics.

This was the third annual runway show and because I was trigger happy I decided to photograph the event, felt proper professional ha. It was tiring but worth it.

Look at out for some winter haul posts and more A/W style in the next posts to come. I should be back to my usual routine but bare with me guys if anything I'm trying.

Hope you likey

First things first

I appreciate those who appreciate my work,  and love the fact that y'all love the photos, as I myself take pride in my work and efforts. I didn't hesitate to put the photos up as soon as I could but that seems to be the issue.
Any photos I've placed not on this blog but Instagram has a logo placed on it. Unlike most watermarks or logos on photography I placed mine somewhere that didn't interfere with the photos out of preference and just to make the photo look better.

Now if you are going to reuse photos or repost them even, it is common courtesy to leave that mark where it is or give a photo cred where due. I didn't make this a point earlier because I thought it was just something a person would know. I'll take some blame in this and for that reason until all the photos are watermarked as needed, the runway post will be disabled till then.

You made me do this people ha.

It will be back soon and with more photos y'all.

Thanks

DMs

So I started writing this post and thought let me add some visuals you know a bit of something to look at. On Google started typing and please look at what came right up.

I knew it was something that was said a lot especially with Instagram jumping on the bandwagon too but oh wow I actually laughed at how ironic is was.

Slide into my DM’s and I'm like, “be gone”. Obviously we hear those cases where a guy or usually a girl is too quick to go off on one and assume that they are being approached in the DM’s, when really it was something a little more genuine, either way the DMs are hostile, volatile and kind of ‘risky’ to enter.

But not everyone is trying to get at you that way.

Don’t get me wrong if some random person @’s me it’s like oh, then if they enter the DMs it’s like oh okay here we go. That initial mentality probably won’t go away but I try not to act on it too fast.
People respond to the information that you put out in your tweets, your bio and sometimes through what you retweet and favourite. Not saying you can know a person just through those things but it does give someone a rough idea. From the information I've placed in my bio and considering what I tweet in general, I should really expect ‘random’ (like people who aren't following me) people to @ me or even follow, and then DM me.

Getting to the point, don’t be easy when dealing with DM’s but be civil. If someone hasn't given you a reason to hit back then try not to be so hostile. Your DM’s aren't that personal, this person isn't on your line nor are they banging your front door down. If your approached in the wrong way Ray Charles the message, people stress but it really isn't by force to answer anything or anyone. Someone who is serious (as in has a genuine question or something) probably won’t beat around the bush and will ask you there and then. Some people will mmm and ahh about this but I've made some genuine friends, associates and links just by dealing with the DM’s in the right way but each to their own.

If it’s something along the lines of, I want to get to know you, or your avi is cute or even anything remotely ‘slide into your DM’ish’ then by all means do you. Remember though, social media has different uses and there may be some genuine individuals who may want to know more about your course, work that you do, skills you said you have etc. there could be an opportunity that comes from the interaction, so I would say don't be to quick to assume the worst. If you don’t feel comfortable just because it is your DM’s then get them to email you instead, (could be a deterrent), although I don’t see the difference. It may get rid of that whole story of  ‘yeah we met in my DM’s’
